How to make a paper pom pom flower!

How gorgeous are these pom pom flowers?!

They look absolutely stunning at any party and in any colour and are so easy to make. You can make them any size you like and even halve them to stick on a wall. They are simply too cute not to share so here goes:

Take a packet of tissue paper. They normally come in a sheet of 8. You will need 8 sheets for this project. You can cut it to the desired size, but I used a whole sheet of this vibrant red paper.

Lay it out on a flat surface and begin to fold like a fan, over the top of each other like so....

When you have finished folding, make sure that you score each edge with your hand so that there is a nice edge. It should look like this:

Take some wire, or a tie like me and find the middle. Fold the wire over the paper and twist to secure

When you have done that cut the edge into your desired shape.

I used a rounded edge, but you could do a sharp edge etc.

Turn the paper on its side and fan out like so:

Then gradually and VERY carefully as the tissue can rip, pull each layer away and up, do 4 layers up on each side of the tie

It should look like this

Turn it over and repeat to the other side until it looks like this:

Get some string and bend your wire over to meet the other end, then tie it onto your wire so that you can hang it up like so:

Then hang ready for your party!
