Chocolate self-saucing heart stopper pudding

Today was a long long day. My hubby spent the majority of it continuing to rip out the rest of the bathroom. I wanted to make sure that he had a good evening meal after all the cement carrying and malet throwing that he did all day. Poor guy!! I was looking through some of my old recipes when I came across this one. I am not sure where it came from, but it is sure to please those tastebuds after a long day on a cool night by the fire.....

Ingredients

1 cup self raising flour
1/2 tsp bicarb soda
1/4 cup cocoa powder for the cake
1/2 cup cocoa powder for the sauce
1 1/4 cups brown sugar firmly packed
80g butter melted
1/2 cup cream
1 egg beaten lightly
2 cups boiling water

Method

Combine flour, cocoa for the cake, bicarb and half the sugar in a bowl

Mix together the cream, butter and lightly beaten egg

Add it to the flour mixture

Place in a greased dish

Place the cocoa for the sauce and the brown sugar in a bowl and combine. Pour over the pudding mixture in the bowl and spread evenly.

Boil a jug of water and carefully pour over the two cups of water over your pudding mixture to make the sauce. Place into a 180 deg oven for 40 minutes.

Serve warm with icecream or cream by the fire!
