When we stopped in Coffs Harbour on the way home I found AMAZING things on that beach. Among them were shells, gorgeous white shells to add to my shell jar from our last years stop at that beach. Then we found a shark egg, yes we did, and some dried up white and brown seaweed.
Hubby gave me *the look*, which he does when he sees me with an idea that he can't quite understand yet, and I grabbed that seaweed and hunted and hunted for more. I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do with it.
I was going to make a Christmas wreath. I had no idea how, but it was going to happen.
The seaweed was hard, not soft and I knew if I tried to bend it it would just break, so I tried soaking a piece in water, realised it would bend and then let it dry to see of it would turn back it's gorgeous pale colour. It did! So that became my plan of attack.
I soaked it in the bath and then I wrapped that seaweed around eachother until it formed a wreath. I didn't tie any of it, I just let it dry, all in a tangled form.
In the morning I let it dry out in the sun and by afternoon a wreath was ready to be hung.
Isn't she glorious?!
