You know something is going to be good when you get that sweet smell wafting from your kitchen.
This afternoon was that day.
The kids wanted popcorn. I called it. Caramel popcorn had to be made.
It is so quick and easy and takes your pantry staples. It makes a great gift too prettied up with a ribbon!
Ingredients
air popped popcorn (about 8 cups)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp bicarb soda
125g butter
Method
First up, pop your popcorn.
Add the butter to a pan and melt over medium heat, mix in salt and then sugar and stir. Leave to bubble but not boil for 3 to 5 minutes. Take off hear and stir in bicarb and vanilla.
Pour over popcorn and mix well.
Place the caramel popcorn on a tray lined with baking paper and preheat the oven to 120deg. Bake for 15-30 mins checking for the crunch that you like!
