Passing it on....

Do you wish that there was something that someone older and wiser close to you had passed on to you? When I say passed on, I don't mean in the material sense but I mean, wise words, meaning, the gift of writing, knowledge, talents....

All my life I had watched my grandparents talents. My grandfather was a master woodwork man and could make anything you asked. He was also a fantastic painter. My other grandfather had a kind heart and a way with words, he encouraged me to write. My grandmothers were both incredibly talented with crochet or knitting or needlework and sewing and fantastic cooks. I learnt to cook a lot by watching them, but missed out on them teaching me their other talents.

So, I taught myself.

Now I see my daughters and son and have all the hopes for their future. I want to teach them great things.

This morning Hannah came to me and wanted to learn to crochet. We are on holiday, so there is lots of time to spend together. So that's what we will be doing today.

I hope that I can be an influence that they will want to follow. What do you hope to pass on??.....
