What an amazing Easter break we have had. Just what we needed. We got out of the city to the country. Not just "little" country, but the "real" country. Right out in the bush, camping. There was a pit toilet, that we installed ourselves. I cringed at first, bit it was fine. The kids had a blast. They went shooting at night and had motorbike rides by day, they played with sticks and ropes and in the tents. They ate damper they had made themselves with a camp lesson from me, and toasted marshmallows by the fire. They shot a gun. They NEVER once said they wanted a computer, tv or iPod. They were kids being kids.
We got the ute bogged. Then the prado. Then we got it free *insert relieved face here!*
We bathed in the creek and cooked a killer red wine beef casserole in the camp oven IN THE GROUND. Yes. We. Did.
We drank wine, ate and ate, sat and chatted, did a bit of crochet. We read the kids the word so that they would know the true meaning of easter and the celebration we enjoy.
We
RESTED.
REFRESHED.
REMEMBERED.
How was your Easter?
Looks great. You are building great family memories.
