mmmmm donut balls!

For those sweet teeth out there I added this recipe. Yesterday I made donut balls for the kids afternoon tea. I was inspired by the bag of $5 (yes $5!!!) donuts I bought at Hannah's netball game on saturday. Seriously a rip off as we only probably got about 15 in the bag :(. Anyway I thought that I would add here so that you can all have a go at making your own. Relatively simple and simply devine to gobble up on an autumn afternoon with a cuppa. enjoy!!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk
2 x 7g packets dry yeast
1 cup caster sugar
pinch salt
4 1/2 cups plain flour
220g butter, chilled and cut into squares
3 eggs, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons cinnamon
vegetable oil or light olive oil for frying

start by heating the milk in a jug til just warm and add two teaspoons of the sugar and yeast and salt and whisk until combined. stand for ten minutes

next sift flour into a bowl. rub in the butter with fingers til forms breadcrumb like effect, then add sugar and make a well in the centre. add egg and yeast mixture and mix to form dough. drop onto
lightly floured surface and knead for ten minutes. Place in lightly oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Leave for 45 mins in warm place.

Roll dough into small balls. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
Next heat the oil in a saucepan until hot. roll dough into balls and drop into oil until lightly browned. Using a slotted spoon transfer balls into the cinnamon sugar and toss. EAT!!!
